Ask Sari a Garden Design Question
Is there a part of your garden you keep looking at and thinking,
“I know something isn’t quite working here, but I’m not sure what to do next?”
Send me one photo and one garden design question.
I’ll select questions to answer in short videos, where I can sketch over your photo and explain what I notice as a garden and landscape designer, and what I would think about next.
Your question might be something like:
How could I better connect this area with the rest of my garden?
Where would you place a seating or entertaining area here?
How could I make this space feel more sheltered and inviting?
I have lots of ideas, but how do I know what actually belongs here?
How could I make this planting area work better through the season?
It doesn’t need to be a perfect photo or a perfectly worded question.
I’m interested in the real garden problem you’re trying to solve.
Send Me Your Garden QuestionHow the reader Q&A works
I select a small number of submitted questions to answer in short teaching videos. I may sketch over your photo and explain what I notice and what I'd consider next as a garden and landscape designer.
These answers are created as public Garden Design Stories teaching and may appear in The Garden Blueprint, on my website, YouTube, social media, or my educational materials.
Not every submitted question will be selected. No name or location will be mentioned without permission.

Leigh sent me a photo of a steep front yard in New Jersey, USA, and a question: how could the slopes look more inviting while addressing concerns about safety?
In this video, I sketch over the photograph and explain where I would start, from defining the edges to gradually replacing difficult lawn with planting.
Take a look. You might recognize a challenge from your own garden.
Every garden is different, but this will give you a feel for how I explore a reader’s question and the possibilities for their space.
What kind of help would you like with your garden?
I’d love to see your space and hear what’s puzzling you.
